    Behind The Shine 10/14/22

Did you know that I turned a failed basketball career and a restaurant job into an empire that generates multiple seven figures per year and employs 50 people?

But let’s start from the beginning.

My senior year of high school, something happened that derailed my basketball career. I’ll spare you the details, but I can tell you this – when basketball was no longer part of my life… I had enormous ambition and it needed somewhere to go.

So I went all in at my job as a waiter because I quite literally had nothing else. I worked relentlessly to figure out how, as a 17-year-old kid, I could make as much money as possible from that restaurant to put myself through college.

There was no pile of cash waiting for me from Mom and Dad.

So I kept the restaurant job through college, graduated debt-free, and worked as a police officer. For years, I saved aggressively and then invested as much as I could into rental properties in California.

My strategy was working well until the market in California completely changed. The success I created to that point was good, but it was never going to be enough to give me the freedom I was looking for. I realized I needed a system to build wealth that would truly stand the test of time.

A system that could overcome changes in the market. A system that could succeed amid uncertainty. A system that would allow me to sleep soundly at night knowing my finances are taken care of no matter what is happening in the world.

So I spent the next 20 years creating that system.

From real estate investing, to personal finance hacks, to the stock market, and everything in between… I have quite literally tried it all. And after decades of highs and lows, massive wins and crushing defeats – I have distilled these efforts into a wealth-building framework that anyone in a W-2 job can follow to achieve their financial goals.

I call what I built my Financial Fortress and I’ve created the David Greene Mastermind to help people like you build your Financial Fortress so you too can build wealth that really lasts.

Here’s what one of the current members has to say

“I joined the David Greene Mastermind shortly after I bought my first out of state rental, leaning on many of the principles David teaches in Long-Distance Real Estate Investing. As a newbie investor and W-2 earner, I felt immediately welcomed and encouraged by others who were just as driven, passionate, and eager to grow. Since joining the mastermind, I’ve gained knowledge from the vast array of speakers, friendships through small group and one-on-one interactions, and confidence to scale in real estate. The transparent discussions, coaching, and accountability created in the Mastermind will help you create a firm financial foundation that is critical to building financial independence, passive income, or excelling in business.” -Jason Wolohan

If you get around people that think the same as you, you’re going to have the same life tomorrow that you have right now.

Improvements in life come from getting around people with different mindsets.

You want to be around wealthier people, happier people, more honest people, fitter people, better overall quality of life people.

You’ve got to get out of the areas where you’re comfortable.

It will feel uncomfortable when you go do that, but it’s worth it.

It feels uncomfortable every time you start working out again.

Every job you ever took felt uncomfortable when you first started, but it usually made you more money than the job you had before and that is why you took it.

So today’s tip is to get around people that are more successful in whatever way you can.

Whether that’s by joining a mastermind (like the David Greene Mastermind) or attending events/retreats (like the Scottsdale retreat we had in September), make it a point to network with others so you can expand your horizon and elevate your mindset.

Home prices in many markets have already begun to drop as a result of the Fed’s interest rate hikes.

The question is how far will they drop? Read more in this article.
